Hello, World!

Hi, I am Susanna! I have been surrounded by music my whole life, so it is no surprise that I  would end up as a music therapist on Music Row in Nashville, TN!!

Throughout my musical career, I have participated in and led numerous ensembles, programs, and classes. I have experienced both sides of musical groups. It has also developed my belief that music improves mental, physical, and emotional health. This conclusion guided me to discover the evidence-based practice of music therapy.

My bachelor’s degree is in vocal music education from the University of Tennessee at  Martin, which led to my three years of teaching experience in my hometown of Savannah, TN.  When I discovered the music therapy field, I realized I had a calling. Therefore, I decided to  further my degree and enroll at Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. My experience consisted  of group and individual sessions with multiple populations. From children with language  development to adults with dementia and everyone in between, music therapy can be provided to  all.

At the Center for Connection and Wellness, I specialize in music therapy and counseling  group and individual sessions with teenagers and adults. Personalized music choices and  experiences can lead the sessions to promote emotional health, develop self-regulation skills,  improve overall mental health, and more! Music is a powerful tool that connects in and around  us all. Using this tool can be an effective and exciting way to connect with yourself and others.
